Rise Above The Chaos ("we," "us," or "our") operates the BrainTokens mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you or your child uses the App.

Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

BrainTokens is designed for children ages 6 and older, used under parental supervision. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.

Parental controls are built in. A parent or guardian must set up the App using a PIN-protected dashboard. Children cannot modify settings, manage subscriptions, or access restricted content without parental authorization.

Information Stored on Your Device Only

All user data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party:

Child profiles (name, age group, avatar selection)
Exercise scores and progress (math, spelling, reading, pattern recognition, memory, sight words)
Token balances and achievements
Parent settings and preferences (screen time limits, exercise configuration)
Session history (dates, durations, scores of completed exercises)

Speech Recognition (Microphone Access)

The App uses Apple's on-device speech recognition to follow along as your child reads aloud during reading exercises. Audio is processed locally by iOS and is not recorded, stored, or transmitted by the App. Microphone access requires explicit permission and can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings.

Screen Time / FamilyControls

The App uses Apple's Screen Time API (FamilyControls framework) to manage app access on the device when children earn screen time through exercises. This data is managed entirely by the iOS operating system. We cannot access, view, or collect any Screen Time usage data.

Information We Do NOT Collect

No personal information is transmitted off-device
No analytics or telemetry data
No advertising identifiers
No location data
No contacts or photos
No browsing history
No third-party tracking or cookies

Subscriptions

Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, process, or store any payment information. Subscription management (including cancellation) is handled through your Apple ID account settings.

Data Storage and Security

All App data resides in your device's local storage (within a sandboxed App Group container). Data is protected by iOS device encryption. If you delete the App, all local data is permanently removed.

Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose any user data to third parties. There are no third-party SDKs, analytics services, or advertising networks in the App.

Your Rights

Access: All your data is visible within the App (parent dashboard shows all child progress)
Deletion: You can reset all data from the parent dashboard, or delete the App to remove all data
Control: Microphone access can be revoked in iOS Settings at any time

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
